AIP is part of the Microsoft Information Protection (MIP) solution, and extends the labeling and classification functionality provided by Microsoft 365. Overview: At a high level, AIP is a cloud-based solution that enables organizations to discover, classify, and protect documents and emails by applying labels to content. It is not the end-all of guidance and each environment is different. This blog serves as a starting point and a way to help guide some of those discussions. There’s a lot of overlap, integration, and separate components that go into these two services. Well, Happy December!
